Hello to all of you golfing addicts.
I am 74 years young & have been playing golf for at least 70 of those years. My Dad was a golf pro & started me early. Unfortunately I never became really good at the game. However, not surprising, since it is sooo diificult.
I carry a 10 hdcp, and like most of us addicts, would like to get it lower.
I have recently ( last 2-3 months ), been working with Jim Hardy's instructional videos. I am trying to get better with his one plane swing technique.
Needless to say, it is not easy to teach an old dog new tricks. Plus northeast Ohio is still not consistently good golf weather yet, so outdoors practice has been somewhat limited.
My focus this year will be continued work with the one plane swing AND
somehow improve on my 30-60 yard partial wedge shots.
I believe I could save 2-3 strokes a round if I could hit this shot. I am currently reading Stan Utley's short game book, primarily to gleen info on the partial wedge shot. I'm open to suggestion in this area.
To indicate how bad I am with the shot, I have even tried hitting them with a left hand low grip ( ala Chris Couch).
I'm looking forward to being part of this forum, hopefully giving & getting help.
