  • Returning to golf after 25 years

Hello everyone. Just retired and am taking up the game again after a 25 yr. layoff.

Ran across this site by accident searching for equipment reviews, but it looks like a great source golfing info. and tips (which I'm sure I'm going to need).

I'm hoping that all the new technology and instructional aids can compensate to some extent for tired bones and a stiff back. We shall see.

    Good to be with you.

    Welcome bill,

I started up again after a brake of 22 years, just starting to get my swing going well.

    Cheers, Ian

      Thanks Ian.

Glad to hear that you are making progress after being away for so long. Gives me hope that I can do it too.

I've been working over the last few weeks with a hitting mat and net in the back yard and an occasional trip to the range. Had a tendency to rush my backswing when I was in college, and I'm afraid I still have it. I've made some progress slowing down, but find it difficult to maintain a smooth tempo when consciously thinking about my pace and club position. Guess I will just have to keep practicing until it becomes second nature. Sure feels like I'm swimming upstream right now though.

      Good luck with your game.

In the same boat,, and the new equipment is grand but there are a few problems I have encountered, one I don't swing as I did once and two is iron play, haveing a heck of a time,, Jasper
