    Hello All,

    Just wanted to say hi and also would like someone to help an old country boy out on stapleford scoring. I have a handicap of 18 right now and played my first stapleford a few days ago. I am not quite sure on the scoring and would like someone, if they have time to go into this scoring process. It is a little aggrivating to some if you have to keep on asking them how to score. Could someone out there let me know the proper scoring with 18 and above HCP, also with lower HCP scoring.

    Just like to say hello to you destew57 and to say hello to all members of the forum as a newcomer here myself.

    As far as I know destew, if you are an 18 hcp then you get 1 shot at every hole so you lower your score accordingly, eg if you shoot a 4 at a par 3 then you have parred that hole etc.

    Points work out at (nett)

    Bogey = 1 point
    Par = 2 points
    Birdie = 3 points
    Eagle = 4 points

    Now remember you score each hole taking into account your handicap so for example, if you are playing someone who is a 20 hcp, then you both get 1 shot at each hole but he will get 2 shots at the 2 hardest holes according to the stroke index of that course because he is a 20 handicap he effectively has 2 shots over your 18 hcp.
