  • Howdy!

Just joined up today. Looking to learn the game. I'm a beginner. Best game is 120. I never knew the game could be so much fun. It seems I'm hooked. Anyway, I hope I can learn from you all as I plan to do this the rest of my life.

    Re: Howdy!

Thank you! Thank you all so very much! Now after that great welcome I can disclose a little more info about myself. I'm 53 years old. Thought about trying my hand at golf a long time ago and finally did it. I have taken lessons and played 3 courses out here in sandy eggo CA. Never new it would be so much fun. Can't seen to concentrate on anything else though. I'm swinging at the range every other day. I shot a 128 my first game at Mission Trails. I shot a 148 at Syquan. Just last Sunday I shot a 120 at Cottonwood. My goal is to break the century mark which I feel I just might do my next time out. Wish me luck. I'm a lefty. Real b!tch of a time finding clubs. I got a beginners set for $300. Tommy Armour Royal Scot. They're OK but I got me a TaylorMade driver....I can't remember...RX Quad ell em en o pee. It's the one that has the movable weights in the head. Had a hell of slice but I almost got it cured. It happens on occasion now instead of being the norm. Anyway I have been reading some of the post and you guys and girls seem to be a helpful civil bunch so I hope to learn a lot from here. If not I'll just find another forum. Ha!

      Re: Howdy!

I sure hope your tongue is firmly planted in your cheek!

Otherwise, I'd assume your name is Leith!

Glad to hear your driver isn't bending much anymore.

      WELCOME TO GTO

      I hope you feel better.

          Re: Howdy!

          Hi Don,

Take some time to look through some of the previous threads, mainly in the Instructions section. There are some links to articles and videos, which are referenced by the posters. Take what you want from these, as a learning base. It's all information. As you go along, you will experiment and discard what does not work for you.

In particular, some of the You Tube videos will be of interest. Search You Tube for "clemshaw" "ritter" and their videos. From these, you will see many others.
