  • Putting games for practise at home

Hello, hopefully will get some good advice on here.

I am looking for some putting practice at home, but would like some games or ideas for making this as fun as possible.

    Cheers,

    Chris

    hi
try the boomerang putting system. i found that to be the best putting aid as you hit one ball so it drops in the cup and then you have to hit a second ball just a little harder to dislodge the first ball. it helps you developed pace and how to judge between a ball that will drop and a ball that will go 8 inches past the cup.
its also a game to see how many time you can sink a ball and knock it out and you find an hour passes without even thinking about it. all other putting aids i have use i have got board with after 10 minuets but not the boomerang.
    cheers

Cheers mate. Will give that a go tonight and let you know how I get on! Need to make a cup out of a bit of card. May even make a few small ones - make it a bit harder.

My garage floor breaks left to right so will have to take that into account!!

Another vote for the boomerang. Mine was fine until my kids drew all over it with a crayon... now the 'felt' on the board has channels... I haven't been able to use it in quite some time (but loved it when I did!)

At this point I'll drop 5 or 6 balls about the room, and putt the first one to a spot on the floor. The rest of the balls are hit to just 'kiss' the last ball I hit. (i.e. I hit ball #1. Ball #2 is hit to just touch ball #1. Ball #3 is hit to just touch ball #2. etc., etc., ad nauseum.) I like this drill because it forces the development of my touch and gives me a different 'look' every putt. I miss the boomerang, though, for grooving my stroke.

Another vote for the Boomerang. Excellent training aid. Also cheap and simple to use.

Right, any other tips as I cant afford to buy any training aids, unless someone wants to donate one - I've entered the competition!

            Keep the games coming!

              Putt for money!

Put a dollar bill, pound note, euro bill or other paper-based currency down on the carpet with the long side parallel to the putting direction and take turns with a buddy trying to stop the ball ON the money. Winner takes the buck, loser puts down the next one.

That will keep you concentrated! ;-)

Love it, will practise this on my my own and travel putting greens around the country challenging unsuspecting golfers!!

Or maybe just take my father in laws money!!

                Good one, keep 'em coming!
