    Re: hi from canada

    Hi,

Actually, there are several. Some can be identified by the "Canada" caption at the top right hand corner of the post, such as this one of mine. Others do not have the caption, but I know they are around.

It looks like you're a serious golfer, with the equipment you have in your bag.

I think that sums up the experiences of every Canadian golfer. Welcome to GTO.

With the amount of snow we've had this winter in Ontario, 6 weeks is pretty optimistic!

              Hi,

A couple of years ago, one of my regular golfing buddies told us about a course he used to play at in March, sometimes mid-March. We used to express doubts, because if not the snow, surely it would be too muddy and there would not be any decent grass. So, two years ago we decided to check it out. From Toronto, it's a drive to Port Dover area. We grab breakfast there and proceed to the course. It's called Pine Valley.

Nice little course, interesting layout, and surprisingly dry as a bone (the ground is very sandy in that area), and the grass was pretty good. Reasonable price. The weather and temps in that area are weeks ahead of the rest of the Province. It's very close to Pointe Pelee, the lowest latitude in Canada.

That is something to look forward to, for a few weeks before the other courses open.

And there's always Four Seasons in Niagara.

HI,im from NS. few years ago played on new years day lots of fun.the courses in the western end of the province have had their biggest days on xmas holidays.courses in very good shape.some will open in a few weeks, not here in the eastern end we usually open last week of april or first of may.but like the course in port dover some have the ability to open early and do a great business in green fees before the rest open.been to the port dover area few years back very nice summer area.believe they have a motorcycle reunion or whatever their yearly.

                    Hi golfforfun,

You are right about the annual motorcycle gathering

For us city folks, another attraction is the fish fry of lake perch in Port Dover.
Golf and stay for dinner. Yum.
