  • Hello

    Hello all,

I joined this group with intentions to better my game and learn from all others out there.

    My first question please:
I've been playing for a year with lessons. I'm about 5' 9", 200lbs. I've been getting mixed reviews about which Flex I should get in my burner, stiff or regular. Also, I am looking into the TaylorMade Burner, tour or regular. Any opinions, ideas would help. I'm presently hitting with a 9.5degree R5 with a regular shaft.

    Thank you very much

Hight and weight done matter, swing speed does. Have you clocked that?

      Re: Hello

Thank you very much for your reply.

I actually have clocked it at a Golfsmith and it's averaged 98. I also called one of the pros at the country club and he said the same thing that it's actually the golf speed. With an average speed of 98, would u recommend stiff? He did. He also recommended the regular Burner and not the Tour Burner as I'm not as experienced.

      Thank you again.

        Re: Hello

I think what the pro says is right.

The usual borderline for regular to stiff is 95 mph. If you are growing your game and will be playing more you will do well with the stiff flex.

The regular Burner is more forgiving and is designed to give a more higher flight, so is suited for casual golfers.
