I am from Hershey Pa, I am 62 years old and I golfed quite a bit about 10 years ago, last year my brother who is now 69 got back into golfing with me and we are having quite a ball!

The personal challendge is what I love most about the golf game, I play about twice a week---well maybe not real playing but practicing is more like it.

Both my brother and I are researchers and when I found this site I was excited.

What happened yesterday on the golf coarse still has me in awwwww!!!

On hole #9 175 ydrs, I shot 6 balls and they all landed on the green, I was using a 5 iron, off the tee, can someone tell me if the only thing I did different caused me to hit these balls on the green ( I placed the ball dead center or just a little towards my right foot.)

My balls flew straighter than ever before and had good loft, I am still shocked at the quality shots and wonder what caused all of this.

Thanks ahead of time for any comments as to why the improvement.

    Hi CmanJim,

Offhand, it may have been that you hit the ball solidly with the club coming in more vertically and the hands leading. The ball is compressed and takes on spin, which makes the ball rise and also keep it's direction.

It seems like a very backward placement for a 5 iron, but it seems to work for you.

Well done, and keep it up.
