I understand how to hit a knockdown shot in the wind, but keeping the drive low is more problematic. If I put the ball back in my stance I tend to block it, or flip my hands through contact and hook it. any suggestions on how to hit a low, piercing ball flight of the tee?

Re: Driving the ball into the wind
hi
i find that swing not as hard keeping than hands low after impact keeps the ball low. if really windy and coming against you i use a 1 iron of the tee.
cheers

Re: Driving the ball into the wind
hi Ted
i would love a set of berilum/copper ping eye2 wedges and even a one iron.
i keep looking for a set of zings beril/copper at a price i can afford but not seen a set yet.
i spoke to ping a few years ago and the said they could clean the face and re-grove them but the price would depend on the wear.
i love my one iron and it is one of the best clubs in my bag and i hit more fairways with that than any other club in my bag that i drive with.
really only as hard as hitting a 5 iron of the tee but i get a good 220 yards.
don't think it will come out my bag for a hybrid as its just to good in the wind that we get on the links over here.
all the best

Re: Driving the ball into the wind
Hi Bill,
There were a lot of pros , who held onto their Eye 2 one and two irons and sand wedges, for a good many years, even when they moved on to other makes and models of clubs for the rest of their bags. There may still be the odd older player that still has a Eye 2 wedge. The reason you have difficulty hunting one down is that top amateurs are also looking for them.
Oh, to get back on topic, I think skywalker has some great suggestions.
