  • HeadCase in Illinois

Hello Everybody, I have enjoyed this game for about 45 yrs, am still youthful and strong, can hit 300 occasionally, make all the shots, but still mess up , especially when it's a supposed 'easy' shot. On the practice tee, I hit everything perfect ! In the middle of the fairway staring down at the green , I guess it makes me nervous, that I can't complete a strong, smooth swing, so I bottom out, and it goes only half as far. When it's a tough shot, I hit it clean and strong! Any ideas?

Sounds like when you back off the "Full" swing you loose your true swing.

Try this: The next easy approach you have, take 1 less club and swing 105%. You might come up a tad short on occasions, or even go over when you nuke-flush it, but this way you are playing inside your full swing mode that you seem to like.

Thanks for the advice, I was thinking the opposite, go up a club and swing easier, and smoother. I didn't mention that I tend to pull my left side and foot around when I do that, and dip my right shoulder. More weight on left side?
