  • Veteran golfer looking to step up the game, get new clubs?

    Hey all,
I found this site when looking for advice on new clubs. Got my swing tested at PGA Golf store in texas a year ago and they have my swing speed at 120. I'm a former baseball player with quick hands through the ball, but my ball flight with a Tmade R7 - 10.5 degree driver - super stiff shaft - is about 250 yards, with ZERO roll. The ball almost sits right where it lands. The ball flight seems way to high. I'm 6'3" and playing for about 20 years, mostly weekend warrior, but now looking to help the score, starting with getting closer to the green first. HELP!! Will an 8 degree club help the distance? Any irons out there that are superior (I have Tmade LCD steel shaft Burners). HELP!

The angle of face is one thing, but being so tall, you might be very upright into impact and this could be the cause of the high flight and even too much spin on the ball (depending on your angle of attack into impact).

Just for kicks, try this at the range:

Take an 85% swing at it, and try not to power the swing with your hands through impact, but with a full rotation alone.

    See what differences there are.

At 120 MPH, you need long drive shafts, not stock shafts.

Reshaft that thing and see if it helps. If you're only carrying it 240 @ 120, your contact must be horrible.
