I played golf along time ago in the 1970's. I am starting to get back into golf. I have a question what do the loft's in Drivers do? I am about to purchase a driver and would like some info so I am not completely imbarssed about my lack of Knowledge. What should I be looking for in a Driver? Any brand suggestions and what about off brands such as Thomas Golf? Shaft stiffness or graphite vs steel? Thank you very much.

PCS Class 'A' Clubfitter
A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.
I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.
For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
Re: Driver Loft? and Hello fellow golfers
Tough to say without seeing your swing or knowing how you hit a ball.
You'll have a very tough time finding a steel shafted driver these days, and flexes are only relevant in the same make and model (in other words, company A's X flex may be company B's S and company C's XX)
Even in model lines, flex is irrelevant - the Aldila NV R plays nothing like the Aldila NVS R.
Hit demo drivers on the launch monitor - and buy the one in your hands that you hit the best. Don't order one or take another one - take the one you actually hit.
