    Hello all

Just become a member today, although I have been browsing the site for a couple of months now.

I am 31 and until last year, I probably only played one or two rounds of golf a year using my brothers clubs. Although I always enjoyed it I never had the time to devote to it before. Anyway, I bought some clubs last year and had some lessons and am now really trying to get into the game. I usually go up the range two or three times a week and am hoping to play at least once a week as well as the weather improves. I think the basics are there but recent rounds still have some shocking shots in them, which I know I can only reduce by playing so thats the plan.

I know this is not really the right place to post this question but I was reading the 3 skills section recently and wondered if people thought it was something that could help me? My only concern is ruining the progress I have made so far.

    Thanks in advance.

    Matt

    Re: Hello

I think 3sk would only help. You shouldn't have too much ingrained in your movement pattern. Welcome to GTO!

      Re: Hello

I think 3 skills would be good for you. It will help to keep the thought process simple and focused on making good impact between clubface and ball which is all that really matters.

Hi and welcome, you will get a whole lot of good stuff from this site, and some rubbish. The big difference with this site is that the absolute majority of members are polite and interested in what you have to say, you will very very rarely end up in verbal scuffles. So start posting

              Re: Hello

Thanks again for your responses guys. I have ordered the 3 Skills book today so I will let you know how I get on.

I just have a question about the book itself. Does it cover how to hit different shots - chipping, pitching driving or does it focus purely on the impact with the ball? The reason I ask is because I was thinking about having a lesson or two specifically on my short game but didnt know whether to read the 3 skills first or not?

I know I will find out soon enough when the book arrives but patience never was my strong point - perfect temprement for Golf right!!!

                Re: Hello

The book covers a complete range of shots, it does concentrate on 3 specific skills but applies these to all clubs. I think you will be pleased with the purchase and it will be well worth the wait
