  • Question on the set up--address

    Hello from Miami, Florida

I have a question about the setup--is the right shoulder supposed to be lower than the left shoulder if you are a right handed golfer? please advise..thanks

Re: Question on the set up--address

Yes. As the right hand is lower on the club, the right shoulder will be lower. The other thing that gives this appearance is what is called spine tilt. Most players lean away from target slightly.

        Dump him.........

I'd ask for my money back then put a claim in for damages to your swing......lol

As Lowpost says the right hand is lower on the shaft so the shoulder must be lower.

Just a point....he did say it should be lower at the top of the backswing did he????

No, he didn't say. We play golf together, and he's been trying to help my game--no charges for his help, but some of the tips from him aren't working. His handicap is a solid 7, but I guess some of the better players have their own way of offering theories. I don't want to hurt his feelings--we have alot of fun on the course--I'll just have to practice things on my own. At least my wife lets me play 2 times a week--lol.

            Al,

            No Worries,

You may find it better to take a few lessons with a qualified Pro, preferably with a video set-up so you can see visually what you need to learn.

One lesson you will learn is that what you "think" you are doing is not always what you are actually doing.

            Good luck.

            Ian.

Didnt that feel absolutely honking???? I cant imagine setting up like that. Did you actually manage to hit the thing???

As I always say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing to hand out....
