    No Photos but try this.....

Here's one way to learn how to properly grip a golf club:
Before you grip the club, stand straight up with your arms hanging comfortably at your sides. Notice how your hands naturally turn in so that the palms point more behind you and your thumbs touch your sides.
Now, take your club in your left hand (for right-handers) and allow the grip to rest down in the fingers. Create a proper grip by making sure that your left hand remains turned slightly to the right, just as it was before you gripped the club. As you position your left hand, be sure to monitor the clubface to make sure the leading edge is in a square position.
When you close your left hand, the heel pad should rest on top of the grip. When you put the club at address you should see at least two -- possibly three -- knuckles when you look down.
Finally, match your right hand to the left by fitting the left thumb snugly against the lifeline of your right palm.
Both v's next to your thumbs should now be pointing to yourright shoulder.

Check your reflection in a mirror or window.

    Hope this helps

      Thanks Ian

I Have Been Playing With The Shaft Resting Between The Pad Of My Thumb And The Heel Of The Hand The Shaft Running Parallel With The Life Line Your Advise Seems To Loosen Up The Wrists And Bring The Club Closer To The Body Will Try At The Range Tomorrow ALSO THE WRISTS SEEM MORE STRETCHED AT THE TOP IN ORDER TO KEEP THE BASE OF THE CLUB PARALLEL TO THE GOUND , IS THIS RIGHT ?

Yes you are correct, your wrists should feel more flexable with the club across the fingers. This should also help your release during the follow through.

You may like to try the interlock grip if you hands are quite small, the right hand should stretch a little across the top.

        Hope this helps

This is the way most HHC players hold the club.

My understanding is that to hold the club in the fingers, you use more of the side of your hand (the pad by the little finger) to hold the butt, and the club runs between your lifeline and your knuckles (except at the forefinger, where the club should be at the 1st knuckle).

            Good luck on the grip.
That is the one thing I wish I could of seen a pro with. We don't have any instructors in my area.
This is the first year I've felt comfortable with my grip and that is after spending hours finding diagrams on the net.

My problem was the same as yours. To high in the hand. Then I went to, to much in the fingers. I finally got it right, and then I saw an episode of Bobby Jones lessons from a legend on the Golf Channel. He made a series in the 30s about breaking 90. Well this confirmed my grip was right.

Made my iron shots a lot more consistent.
