  • Introduction

Hello to all members.I've just became a member of Golf tuition on line.
My name is Nick and am looking forward to exchanging ideas. I'm 64 years old and took up golf after I retired, so I now have 2 seasons under my belt.I played about 90 rounds this year and broke 100 legally 5 times. I'm in the procsess of developing a swing at this point. My thoughts are this will take me another 3 years to feel fully comfortable.
I'll sign off for now, just wanted to introduce myself.
    Thank you
    Nick

    Re: Introduction

    Hi Nick

And welcome to GTO, you should be proud of your achivement, many take longer to break 100 than two seasons.......................it not that easy to do (without cheating).

    Well done

    Ian.

        Re: Bump and Shift

Am having trouble getting my hips out of the way. Can't seem to get this bump and shift move down pat. Also have a feeling this could be causing me to come over the top and slice my driver or pull my irons. any thoughts.
        Thank you Nick

          Re: Introduction

nick a good tip to try is as you start downswing, concentrate on bringing your right elbow into the right hip thats assuming you are r/handed,this should help to promote a pulling down action which in turn should prevent the dreaded over the top.

also nick you can post a video on here of your swing and mosy likely one of the teaching pros will see it and advise I hope this helps

                Re: Right elbow in.

                Thanks Killer;
Have been working on the right "elbow in thought" at the indoor range as it's been alittle cold in the Chicago land area lately. However yesterday we had a 54 degree day, so I got out and played 18 holes. The good news is while using your tip I didn't slice all day, only hit 6 fairways but that was because of my aim and not because of slicing, thanks again, will keep on working with it.
The bad news is from the fairway or rough I must have topped 10 Balls.Or as the ground was wet I'd hit behind it and take 5 pounds of dirt and grass. How can I correct this topping action.

                Thanks
                Nick
