  • Greetings from South Dakota

I've just come back to the game after 10 years of softball. I took a lesson because I was having trouble getting the ball in the air. I quickly found out that just about everything in my swing, from grip to follow through was wrong. Now I am learning a Hogan type swing. Things are working but I am still drifting my drives to the right. I am trying to find a cue on the downswing that will help me from coming over the top. Any suggestions?

I think the tip posted about leaving the shoulders in the top of backswing position and pulling down with the arms is an effective training aid.
If you overdo it, you may forget that you still need to turn the shoulders back around again and be left with the dreaded woodchoppers swing.
