  • Hello Ya'll:

Hello to all.. I am new to golf and new to this forum. It is great to have found a place where hopefully I can get some tips on some of the basics. I have friends who help and I have found numerous tips just browsing the internet, but this forum will give me a more concentrated source of information. I would like to start by asking a question about practice equipment and videos.

My tendency is to want to buy everything I see. Right now I am considering purchasing the "Birdieball" practice balls. Has anyone here had any experience with these.

Also, AJ's Truth About Golf video looks very appealing. Should I just lay off this stuff for now or what? Or is that simply up to me .

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I guess I am mainly looking to make first contact here and see what kind of responses I get to my obvious ignorance about the whole matter. I have a ton of questions.

BTW, I have been playing only for the better part of a year (I am in my 50's and that's as much as I will say about that) and not that often up to now. A couple of trips to the driving range and maybe a total of about 10-12 games. I have moved from a score of 135-140, down to a two game consistency of 117 (last two games.) I have taken no formal lessons as yet.

I think I'm "hooked" not "sliced" but "hooked".

Why is my signature not showing here??? I have it checked to display..
