    Changing paddles in mid stream?!?

    I am left handed and not to blame anyone but my father told me that there were no lefties on tour except Bob Charles back in the 80's so I played with his hand me down right handed clubs. Well, I have been hacking away for about 20 years and have decided to go out and buy a left handed set. Any suggestions?

      I have helped a few golfers who were in a similar position to you. I'd suggest you do 2 things:

      1> Go and buy a cheap-ish set of left handed clubs first, before you invest a huge sum of money. Just in case you don't "take" to the change and find you are better off playing right-handed.

      2> Go to a teaching professional for a few lessons to help you with the change. You'll find it's going to be very difficult to re-train the muscles to work in opposites.

      I know exactly how difficult it is to re-learn to change sides, but with some instruction, lots of practice and tons of patience, it is possible to do. Just be aware that it might be easy to do or it might not be ...
