  • New Lady golfer from WA

Hi everyone! I have been taking lessons for the past month and I am surrprised how much I am enjoying them. My husband has played for years so I thought this was something we could both enjoy and I was right.

The biggest challenge I am having is that I want to practice every night and my hands hurt if I practice more than 2 nights in a row. Any advice?

    Hi Debbie,

First thoughts are grip the club lighter in a scale of 1-10 you should be about 4/5, you will naturally tighten into impact without much thought, practicing two nights running should not cause any pain.

You could always practice your short game chipping and putting, this is as you will no doubt find out is where your score is made.

    Enjoy the site

Hi, and welcome. Sam Snead said you should grip the club as you would a small bird. Dont worry and think you are gripping too lightly, as you approach impact grip will tighten automatically.
