Hitting ground 2-3 inchs behind ball with all woods

Hi My wife & I are new to golf.She is frequently hitting the ground (before the ball)2-3inchs behind the ball with all her woods. Any suggestions why and how to fix.

I am trying to learn the single plan swing as shown by
Moa any comments on this swing + or - would be appreciated

Hi John! I am new too. I learned a drill that helped me. I swing the club from 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock sweeping the grass. I was hitting the ground so hard I sprained my pinky!

Anyway, also are you and your wife taking lessons? I have found this to be very helpful. I take a lesson every 2 weeks and try and hit the range 3 to 4 times a week.
