How do either of those solutions quell deceleration?

          I'm with ya.

Lets assume for a minute that the problem IS deceleration.

The remedy is to accelerate (obviously).

What I struggle to understand is how we get deceleration in the full swing. Unless by deceleration you mean that your follow through is cut short (the line of thinking is often "I've hit the ball, no need to keep swinging.")

If that is the case, then you need to re-learn to swing to full completion.

If that's not the case, then I'd need to see video to note where this deceleration is coming from.

You ever see Charles Barkley swing? now that's deceleration. Could the people telling you, possible mean releasing early?

I actually suffer from the same thing. I am trying to work on that as well and it is getting a little frustrating

Like Low Post says... make sure you come to a full balanced finish.

The swing builds up speed so hopefully you have maximum speed at impact (or somewhere around impact).

Think about hitting THROUGH the ball out to the target. Don't think about hitting AT the ball.

RELAX! Golf is fun. Easier said though!

Copy good swings of the pro's. Look at the sample videos on this site or pick up any copy of Golf Digest and look for their freeze-frame sequences of the pro's swings. The May 2006 issue of Golf Magazine featured a frame by frame of Stuart Appleby on page 58.
