    Hey guys,
Probably guessed i've just signed up to GTO, i'm a golf enthusiast looking to improve my game and i was just wondering if any of you would have any handy little tips for me. the big one is something to make me relax when taking a shot.

How is your breathing? If you think about it in the pre-shot routine, that in it's self creates a euphoric state. I take about 2 slow easy deep breaths during the preshot routine's other steps and that is enough to make me relax.

Everyone is different. But try it to start.

Other reason's could be that you are thinking about too many things at once, and attempting to be perfect in each. That is a recipe for tension for sure. Make 1 or at most 2 thoughts that you are "in the moment" on and that will reduce this tension. So it means that you really have to trust what you are doing without thinking about it. Your natural swing is usually better then some contrived forced one that may execute 1-5 times as compared to a natural one that is 4-5. The difference is probably a slight fade or some other shape is predominate in the natural one, but I would take that any day over the perfect 1-5 option.

Work at the range to put your brain in a competative mode more, and work on the course to put it in a practice mode. It is backwards, but this works. I have a competition drill for you to try at the range. It reinforces this idea.

I think that may be the problem with my tension. Thinking about too many things at one time. I shall take a look at your competition routine and let you know how i get on, thanks for the help.
