I have been experimenting with begining the finish low and left to cure and hook. I get the feeling that if forces your hips open and ironically results in a straight shot. There seems to be a dispute between those who advocate finishing high and the Jim Mclain school that says low is better. Any thoughts?

Re: The finish: low and left?
While finishing high is a good thing, staying low through impact is even more important, alot of mid-high handicappers have the belief in their mind that they have to help the ball into the air, but, golf is a game of opposites in most cases, so to get a nice boring ball flight hitting down and following through low is the way to go.
Hope it helps.
