Hi from Allentown! I dont golf much in the mts, but I do get up to Sand Springs near Hazleton and Shawnee on the Delaware every so often.

If you ever come down to the Lehigh Valley you should check out Center Valley and Morgan Hill. Its always nice to know someone at Saucon Valley CC or Silvercreek CC. Very impressive places to play.

I really envy your location! Here in Ireland at present it is like winter. 60mph storm, monsoonlike rain, and generally miserable. We are suppose to be in summertime. The irish open golf was cancelled today for 6 hours because of wind. The balls would not stay still on the greens! I hope you have better weather. Where exactly is allentown?
      Regards,
      Robert

Re: Hello from the Pocono Mts

The Pocono Mts are in the Northeast corner of Pennslyvania,my home town is Scranton,Pa the 2 golf courses you refer to Sand Springsto in the Hazleton area ,and Shhawnee in the Pocono's ,are great courses,a little furture north near Wilkes Barre ,Pa is a great muny course ,Wilkes Barre Golf Club , it's a long course and sitts on the top of "Joe Palooka"Mt.

Shawnee is beautiful , my wife and I have played there several times over the years ,it was one of Jackie Gleason's favorite courses when he would stay in the Mts.

5 minutes from our home is a nice course we play quite a bit,Summit Hills ,and as the name implies ,lots of hills.

The nearest course I've played near Allentown was at a course called "White Tail or Dear" can't remember which,it was a nice course.

The weather here is fine ,right now,we have had rain for 5 days straight after going 15 without a drop ,so the courses are getting a well deserved watering, temps in the 60's during the day down into the 40's at night.
