  • Hello from St Helens England

    Hello fellow golfers out there.

I am really looking forward to the summer (if we can get any here in the UK!) and getting out on the golf course. Have struggled with my game for 12 years, since leaving school at 16. Got down to 12 as a junior but have not progressed as I would have liked. Thing i find is I start playing well at the start of the season, after a winter break, then it slowly goes down hill. Could this be the re-emergence of old faults.

Anyway I've purchased a David Leadbetter Swing setter to get back in the swing of it. I've been using it in the garden over the weekend and have to say I'm impressed. Just need to put it to the test when hitting balls, which I will start doing next week.

    Hi rackster and welcome.

I am a fellow brit from Manchester. With reference to your inconsistancey, i presume you battled with this before and managed to overcome it. Now all you have to do , when at the driving range, is to spend a lot more time working on the fundamentals , Grip , posture, alignment and ball position. Just working on keeping these correct will erradicate many swing faults..

Have you played sherdley Park? I was supposed to play it ( for the first time ) last week but the rain forced me to cancel.

    Regards Terry

Yes I've played Sherdley Park. Last played it in July 2004. It is a decent course for a municipal. It is very much a tale of two nines. The first nine offers good variety and is much lengthier than the back nine. The back nine is shorter, but the holes are more established and from 14 to 18 are the best for me, especially 18, where you have to drive over a small brook or take the easy lay up option.
