Don't adjust anything yet until you isolate the reason for the problems in tournaments. Track your stats. Start there. Where are your GIR's? Fairway's? Putts?

If you don't know this, you should. Start with the simple way of a 4 corner notation:

On every score card from now on (practice/tournament), take an extra line under your normal score for that hole, and put these values:

    Top left = Greens
    Top right = putts
    Bottom left = Fairways
    Bottom right = Special

    * If you hit a green in regulation, put a 1 in the top corner for that hole.
    * If you may 2 putts, put a 2 in the top right corner for that same hole, 3 putts a 3, putt a 1, 0 putts (you chipped it in) put 0.
    * If you hit the fairway, put a 1 in the botton right.
    * The special category is for Sand, OB, and water. Put a "F" for a fairway sand strap, "G" for a greenside sand trap, "O" for OB, and "W" for water.

This information will get you just about all the basic stats you can imagine (just not anything "distance" related. That can come later if you need.)

This tally will let you know where your weaknesses are so you know where to go on the driving range.

Just about all the tracking programs have this general notation, that you enter into your profile/score for that round and it instantly will tell you all your stats and trends. It a life saver for speeding up your very concern on "what is my problem?!?!?!"

Re: One plane versus two plane swings

Thanks, I am going to use that next time out. I already had swing videod by old swing coach an I am OK at top but at impact my rt hand is flipping causing chicken wing. The left wrist is breaking down and I am swaying to left not turning thru. Any drills to help appreciated. I am using impact bag and indented medicine ball but I still need to firm the left side up. When I hit it well it feels like chopping down an tree with ax. But I cant reproduce it enough.
