  • Terrible Slice

    Hello everyone. My name is Jodie. I've been golfing about 6 years now. The first couple seasons were great, but lately I've developed a terrible slice. I've changed drivers a couple times and played around with my setup but nothing seems to work. Can anyone tell me how to cure my slice for good? Please??

        HI Jodie.
        To cure a slice you have to understand the causes, These can be:
        1) clubface is open at impact which imparts side spin to the ball.
        2) Clubface comes across the taget line on a out-to-in swingpath, this coupled with an open clubface will increase the severity of the slice.

        now lets look at ways to stop slicing:
        1) don't grip the club too tightly
        2) At address , check your feet , knees, hips and shoulders are parallel to the target line.
        3) always start the backswing smoothly
        4) Halfway back, check the line of the club shaft points to a spot on the floor, somewhere between the feet and the ball , but favoring towards the ball.
        5) your right armshould now be parallel to the floor with your elbow facing down.
        6 ) now just turn your shoulders to complete the backswing.warning:make sure you maintain the spine angle you formed at address.
        7) The backswing should start from the floor up,never initiate the down swing with the shoulders or you will swing out-to-in.
