Re: Hai there..
You seem to be on the right track already. Get a few lessons from the golf pro, practice at the driving range and try to spend some time on the short game i.e chipping and putting. Very soon you will be ready for the course.
You will also get lots of tips, advice and information on these forums at GTO.
Most importantly, Remember to HAVE FUN!

Re: Hai there..
Hi izattt
A p
Proper grip will reduce your tendency to slice. A good grip will keep the clubhead square at impact and keep the shaft from turning in your hands. Pictured is the popular overlap grip, also known as the Vardon grip.Try for a relaxed and comfortable feel. A tight grip will hinder your rhythm and release. The V.s formed by the index finger and thumbs on both hands point between the chin and right shoulder.Turning hands counterclockwise on the shaft (weak grip), promotes a left-to-right flight of the ball (slice). Turning hands clockwise (strong grip) promotes a right-to-left flight of the ball (hook).
Hope this clears things up for you .Last edited by aftford; 07-10-2006, 04:35 AM.

Re: Hai there..
Take a few lessons from a pro to make sure you have the correct swing and grip as well as the other fundamentals of the game. Keep practicing on the driving range until you know your average distance for each club and you are striking the ball properly. Also, this has already been mentioned but you should also practice your chipping and putting. Once you are comfortable and hitting the ball consistently, hit the course and have fun.

Re: Hai there..
Hi Abbas, - sorry about the late response but I see that Canadian Man has answered your last question quite adequately. Regarding your other question - I am from Trinidad, West Indies, and you probably saw our team at the World Cup where we were the smallest nation represented.
Guess we owe you another special welcome, as the only known GTO member from the Land of the Hornbills.
Hope you enjoy some delicious Umai and Pansoh Manoh and let us know when you start heating up the courses at Bintulu & Hornbill.
