  • Make of clubs

    Hi,
I want to buy a new set of clubs but dont know which ones are best to invest in,as a high handicapper is it best to buy the most expensive out there to help me improve my game or are cheaper ones just as good.

    Re: Make of clubs

If you are a high handicapper it might be better to invest in lower priced clubs. Then take the money left over and get some lessons. They are usually more beneficial than new equipment. If you take a lesson or two the pro wuld be able to give you some direction as to what clubs would best suit you. I have gotten some awesome deals on ebay for clubs also.

      Re: Make of clubs

If it's golf club shaped, you can probably use it to hit a golf ball.

The real trick is to get your lofts and lies checked and fitted, no matter what you buy.

Remember, ALL GOLF CLUB HEADS (save the Ashton E3) are subject to the following tolerances: +/- 2° for loft and lie, and +/- 3g in head weight.

        Re: Make of clubs

        hi
i have played pings for 30 years now and i always feel i have the best clubs. i never blame clubs for a bad shot or throw them about after a shot, i find it you feel your playing with the best and with clubs that fit you your game will improve no mater what make you pick, make sure they are fitted at it makes such a diffrence
try the ping site and do a web fit there, its free. give you an idea of lie and grip size you need, then look for that clubs you like the look of best then see if the will fit them to you.
        hope this helps

                hi jeff
check there site and do a web fit and then check it against your clubs you might find it your clubs and need a tweek and they will play fine after that,
doing a ping web fit will let you know the lie you need and the grip size and at least give you some ideas when you look at other clubs or go in a shop and you'll know the lie you need and if clubs neeed to be longer or shoter,
                best of luck

                  Re: Make of clubs

I've always had fitted clubs, not necessarily named brands, but not knockoffs either.

Length of clubs , shaft flex and lie are essential for consistency. In general the make of the club should depend on what fits your eye at address.

Find a golf fitter/maker in your area. Its worth the trouble.
