  • Correct way to hit Wedges

I really have problems from 100 yards and in when hitting my wedges. I have read that you are supposed to have your hands ahead of the ball at address so that you deloft the club. However, other people say that you are supposed to open the club up and make it even more lofted. What is the correct way to hit a wedge - deloft it or open it up - or do both - hands ahead of the ball and also open it up? Is this the same for pitching, sand and lob wedges or does it vary depending on the club? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Depends on the shot your hitting. Hands ahead of the club for your normale distance. Hand even and open clubface fore a shorter yet higher shot. etc.. Hands in front for deloft and opening the face to add loft.
