Hi Bernie, welcome to GTO. I play with my teenaged son as well and we have great times on the course and even at the practice range, where he is my "swing analyst". Enjoy your times together, the experience is priceless.

      Bernie:

Just wanted to say "Hi." I am a 45+ beginner, have been to the driving range a few times and had one lesson but not yet played on any course.

        Re: 50+ beginner

        Hi Bernie,

I am 54 and just started the game. So far I've taken a few lessons, but here in Chicago they are awfully expensive at $90/hour, so I spend most of my time at the golf course just trying to groove a swing. It is a frustrating game since there are more variables than, let's say, a game of tennis. I heard somewhere that as many people leave the game each year as those who enter into it. :-)

Anyway, if you come up with any good thoughts as you learn, I sure would be interested. Right now, I am viewing Hardy's "The Plane Truth" video, and I am finding it pretty interesting. If it helps my game, it is a keeper since he is has some interesting insights within his presentation. If it doesn't, I have a 90 trial period. I hope it helps. :-)

Have a good day and week!

        Regards,
        Rich
