Hard Grounders with Driver
I used to mash the driver; it wasn't always straight, but it was in the air. I had a Nickent 460 10deg when I was mashin'. I bought a Cleveland HiBore 9.5deg. I cant hit it in the air to save my life. Pretty sure its all mental, but what can I do to get the ball in the air? My ball hits about a foot in front of the tee and still goes nearly 200 yards. I am very frustrated and I'm not having fun golfing.

Check the difference in the shaft stiffnesses, I bet this one is a level stiffer + the 1 degree lower will cause this issue. -

shaft size can also make a difference. longer shafts go farther, but harder to controlComment

You are topping the ball.
Is it teed so that 50% of the ball appears above the top of the driver?
Are you staying down on it or coming up out of it in an attempt to see the ball in the air?
Get someone to watch you hit a few, concentrate on an exagerated "head-down" action.
It might not be pretty but you should at least be able to see whats going on.
Also use something (tape, powder) to see where you are hitting the ball on the club face.Comment

You should be turning towards the target and trying to look at the ball in flight with square shoulders, upright balanced stance. Trying to stay down can create a lack of turn.Comment

Im not proposing it as a swing change, merely trying to identify the cause of the knockdowns as noted by my "exagerated "head-down" " comment.
There is little point fine tuning the rest of your swing if you cant get the ball in the air and dont know why.Comment
