  • New old member returns

    Hello!

I was active on this board for a while, then I didn't post for a long time, and now...well I'm posting this!

I've been playing golf through it all, however. This is my 4th year playing golf for fun, but only my 3rd year playing pretty much every week when the weather is good. That first year I only played 3 or 4 times. I don't know my handicap, nor do I care, but I average about 100...basically between 96 and 104. I think that's about where I was when I stopped posting here last year or so, and it really hasn't changed much. Sometimes I *think* I'm getting better; sometimes I think I'm getting worse, but I always seem to return to that 96-100 window. I've gone for lessons twice, and I used to spend a lot of time at the practice range. I no longer do. I just play when I can and enjoy it.

Anyway, I thought this would be the best spot to say hello again.

Oh I still work on my swing. Most of my train wrecks are the result of duffed iron shots. I hit an okay tee shot most of the time, my chipping has improved, my putting is fair, but I throw away at least 10 strokes a round by mis-hitting with my irons. So there's always that to work on. But as long as I'm having fun I don't mind.

Helloooooo... The thriver you built me is still serving me well. I have confidence at the tee, even if things often unravel on the next shot. I generally hit it about 240 yds, without trying to kill it. My best drives with that club have been 290, which I've done twice. But 240 and pretty straight is just fine with me. If I can figure out my irons I'll have a game.
