    Hello everyone,
New to this forum and looking for help in determining why I have started to shank my short irons of late.

I don't think I am standing too close to the ball, but I'll review it. I have even gone so far as to set-up with the toe of the iron at address rather than the middle.

Don't do that because now you are going to have to reach for the ball, and I suspect this is the problem in the first place.

You are probably just swinging with your arms, and not rotating your shoulders and hips. Rotating those 2 fully through before impact will clear out a lot of room for your arms to drop naturally into the ball where you were at setup.

I had it for a while, too, and incorporated the same solution. It would seem that my arms would 'fly away' from my body on these short shots.

Greg is correct (for me) in that it was an 'arm chop', not a 'body swing'. My arms had to work away from my body to get to the ball, and by that time it was too late (so the hosel is all that's left to hit the ball with).

By incorporating a little body turn, I've solved the problem. When I just 'arm swing', though, the hot right squirters return.
