  • Good ? Poor ? Concentration ? !!

Hello all !!, first time i`ve posted here.
I have been golfing for 5 years now & have got my handicap down to 10.5 (11 !!). I have been as low as 9.8 but being so desparate to become a single digit player i have had a poor season with .1`s in all comps taking me to where i am now.
My question is , during a round, i let the pressure boil inside until everything bothers me.
An example of this is playing partners. I begin to monitor their movements & actions on the course, even during my swing, to see if it is they that are moving & so making me play bad !!
So is it a sign of poor or good concentration that i am looking for outside influences ?......& if so what do i do to stop it ?

    Thanks for any help

I don't think its so much a concerntration issue, it's more of an attention issue. Your attention is being drawn to outside influences rather than your own game and swing thoughts.

    I suggest two things:
1> Have a game plan, have a strategy for the shot you want to execute and focus on that. That needs to become your focus. Try to shut out all those outside influence and there are techniques to do that. If you want additional guidance, let me know.

2> Develop a pre-swing sequence. Find a sequence that works for you and stick with it. What this does is builds repition and lets your golf brain follow the same pattern shot after shot. Just knowing what to do and follows will guide your brain and keep it occupied on the sequence and less succeptible to being distracted.

Both of these will help you keep focussed on your game, the next shot and what you want to achieve. The execution of the shot is managed within the pre-swing sequence.
