    is using a sand wedge laid back a little the same a using a lob wedge straight away. the flange on the l wedge seems the same as the one on the sand wedge. thanks

    Generally speaking, an open or laid back SW will expose more bounce (raise the leading edge and increase the leading edge to ground measurement) than a LW squared up. This will cause the LW to dig more than the SW. This also assumes that your LW has less bounce than your SW.
