Adding a post so I quit getting that silly message saying I haven't posted a message.

Hello there I am also new to this forum as well as to golf. I started a year ago and they say I have a potential
I learned golf by watching a dvd called"Golf For Dummies". And that dvd gave me the basic fundamentals I guess. In my first month I was able to drive 251 yd. with the worst club ever.. Now I am eager to learn advanced driving tips for a long drive because I hit consistent and straight. And hopefully this forum will help me improve

I watched Gary McCord's DVD a couple years ago. There are some pretty good drills in there. He keeps it really simple. Also, watch his tempo. He has a pretty good golf swing and never looks like he is trying too hard.

After that video, you can then pick your next collection. Usually, this is the point were you find a golfer who you think you swing like. I like to think I have a similar swing plane as Tiger Woods or Adam Scott. I cannot turn back quite as far as them, NOR clear my hips as much as they do while staying back, but I like to read books/articles by Hank Haney (who coaches Tiger). I can apply his tips to my swing.

If you are going to be mostly self-taught, like I was, you gotta find something to mirror.
