Do you practice at the range? Or just play.

In the net, and play. Thanks.

        Re: Nervous

Nets are pretty much useless for analyzing results. They are only good for exercise.

I would start getting to a real range if you can. Practice and drills are essential for the first couple of years to be able to see your results.

Nervousness is normal. You want to perform and your body does all it can to help, by releasing adrenalin...so you will eventually get used to this and play better under it.

          What kind of nerves?

          1st tee?
          Competition?
Showing yourself up in front of "better" players?

I've sufffered badly from all three of the above in my time, and trust me we have all been there, even the pros on here suffer from nerves in one form or another let alone those of us shooting 80 and up.

The best bit of advice I've received to cope with nerves came from StillHacken on this board who pointed out: "the starter has seen it all off the first tee. You wont do anything that hasn't been done".

You should also remember that out there on Tour you'll often see 10 shot swings between Joe Pros best round of the week and his worst (ok that might be 64 to 74 ) so a swing between 82 and and 102 for a relative beginner is actually not that much to worry about.
