Hard to judge it was 1st time played for me, very tight and the greens small and very undulating, but i have had better on my local but thats really easy. I also scored 42 points at Bedale that won me the society golfer of the year in 2006, but again I have played that a few times. But it was the best I have ever played with my irons it was crisp clean wonderful feeling in the hands. Yes I hooked a few but my grip is not perfect.
I thin k its work at the range on my grip and distance control
Look out GTO Event next year
    Cheers Keith

Won the medal today with a net 68. Ball striking was great but putting was also good, 12 putts on the front nine and 16 on the back.

I have needed to weaken my grip with my new Burner driver but it did serve me well with every drive making the fairway, excellent straight drives.

This better striking is now giving me so much confidence over the ball for all shots. I just love it

Not trying to make a case for 3 skills just sharing my good day.

Great to hear Brian! Glad the putts were dropping - beautifully, by the sound of it.

              Thanks Ian.

Yes they were, it seemed that anything within 8 feet just had to go in. The other pleasing part with the score (Kinda!) was that I hit two balls out of bounds due to over-clubbing.

                  More 3SKs news,

When to the range last night, first time since last October, first time I have hit more than 20 ball at our practice ground which is only a wedge practicing the 3SKs, so I ordered my 100 balls and worked on the 3SKs for the first time, other than on the course and the GTO day, I have already had great success on the course like Brian and Ian.

I could not believe the results hitting ball after ball, it was almost embarrising, my only complaint now is the dam season is over...!!!

There were two guys in the next bay who were hitting it ok, but I did hear the comment that my shots sounded different than there's.......

                  What a great session.

P>S forgot to ask does anyone else working on 3SKs feel like they are sort of "flipping" the hands through creating silly power..........I think it's an effort to keep the face open into impact then releasing.............I get a flip sensation.???

                  Ian.

                    Ian.
                    cant say ive noticed ian
i played an uphill 155yd par 3 yesterday i took 8 iron and finished through the green
the one thing 3skills has done it has improved my confidence no end
                    with my driver.
i have lengthened my backswing slightly and the results have been great
last hole yesterday 298yd par 4 slight downhill 10yds short of the green, in summer i would have probably been through the green.
looking forward to honing my short game with 3skills over winter

                      Hi Ian,

There is no doubt in my mind that this has been great for my game and yours by the last thread, I have suffered also with added distance, costing me a few shots, I put a wedge through the back of our first on Sat morning from about 120yds mad...!!

There is a definate flipping for me, really hard to explain, Liam thinks I'm mad.

As I come into the ball trying to hold the face open, i.e attack from the inside there is a point when I loose control and flip my hands/wrists into the ball, like a last minute release I assume, this is a downward blow and I just have to let it go..........................got to be right the ball goes miles with a slight draw.

They always say if it feels different it's right.

I can't believe that I have been this long without any swing thoughts at all, this is the longest period in my 10 years golfing career, I couldn't tell you what my hips, arms, head, feet or anypart of my body is doing during the swing

I am waiting for the right time to video my swing just to see if it is looking loads better or I have driffted into bad habits....................I think you should wait around three months before having a look on video.

                      Ian.

                        Hi all

Its great to hear from you all and the progress you are making with the 3 skills.

I was wondering does anyone know how the sales are going with the 3 skills book overall? Is it a bestseller yet?

                          my point exactly ian!
i couldnt possibly tell you what anything was doing!
like you i am getting great distance with a draw shape so its got to be right!
have to work on mental side and short game over winter to capaitolise on these improvements
great to hear low handicap partners compliment me on good ball striking all helps with the confidence!

I have got a problem now that is holding my 3sk back. I did mention it on the site once before but never completely cured it. Without my knowing that I do it, I turn my left hand clockwise on the backswing actually on the grip of the club. This of course leads to a closing of the face on the downswing causing a hook. I have tried gripping looser and tighter but the blasted thing still happens. If anyone could sort me out on this I reckon I would be flying.

one of Trevino's tips is to grip light and when you swing back and reach your full back swing give the grip a hard squeeze with only the left hand and your grip relaxes on the downswing by its self, it does work.

                                Hi Brian,

My advice is work on the 3sks and nothing else, if do as the book says aproach the ball from the inside with an open clubface, this in it's self will eliminate your hook......................think youself lucky at least you have skill 3 nailed with the rotation, just need to keep the face open a little longer on the downswing, that's the key.

                                Ian.
