There is plenty of teaching going on. It is the learning that is the problem.

      I agree, jambalaya,

How can anyone say that one of the best golf instructors, and not limited only to the fact Tiger Woods is his best known student, in the world of golf is not teaching Barkley, and using his knowledge and wiles to teach an extremely hard case like Barkley.

If Haney gets Barkley fixed, it would be a tremendous achievement.

I know some of the show is hype for entertainment purposes, but as far as the teaching goes, it's documenting a tough case for Haney.

1000 balls a day. Get flatter.

Nothing about clubface, nothing about path.

        Please.

I could get my dog to hit a nice pitch shot with 1000 balls a day.

Barkley used to be a low single digit handicapper.

Barkley now has that psychological problem, which prevents him from getting the club around and then swinging it down on plane. That's the major chore that Haney has, that is, more of breaking the "fear'" or yip, than a physical fix.

If you've watch the shows, and it seems you have, you have seen when he gets the club flatter and loses that hitch, he hits 300+ yard drives and terrific iron shots.

So, it seems there is nothing wrong with his path and face, and his play is great, if only he can get flatter. That is the major obstacle. Proper path and face comes with the flatter plane for him, he's a good enough athlete to do it.

As I said earlier, my friend has the serious problem of lifting his arms. I have tried to turn him for a couple of years now. Under pressure, he still does it. It's ingrained and in his case he is incapable for many reasons of the 1,000 balls per day repitition regimen.

Of course, I realize there is an element of showtime hype with that 1,000 balls too.
