Jones was probably the single best player ever. For example, when he went to Sunnydale to qualify for the british open, the first time he played the course,he shot 66 including 33 putts. The equipment of those days required a very inside backswing and alot of lower body motion to really excel with it.
Given the equipment, course condition and other factors including Jones only played 3 or 4 months a year, he was the master.

i think looking at the clip of Bobby Jones, you see just how modern his swing was and how more advanced he was with the like Vardon etc.

Your qualifying remarks don't jive with those who actually know.

            Hi Keiko
sorry but i did not see what i said wrong. i was agreeing he was a wonderful golfer and we will never see another amatur golfer like him again that took on the pros and beat them all and won everything there was to win.
i was not being disrespectful in any way.
            cheers

I agree that Bobby Jones was one of the all time greats if not the greatest. I can't see anyone else winning the US and British Amateur Open along with the US and British Open in one year.
