I had a revelation yesterday, as I was testing and getting fitted for some new irons. I tested 6 models and hit 15 shots total, every single one of them on the heel (not a shank, but inside clubface). My club pro said that I was way to far inside (under the plane) on the downswing. I watched it on video and my path travels from inside to outside on the downswing which is apparently causing the clubhead to move away from my body as it approaches the ball. I have always stuggled with this severe inside path and can not find any good ways to fix.
Ledbetter says to widen downswing arc to get to inside square to inside, by straightening right elbow as early as possible in downswing without losing wrist angle. (Kind of sounds similar to the feeling of RHD)
By the way, I have been doing the RHD, will this fix the problem?
All of my divots point to the right of my target.
My driver is always, always hit in the dead center of the face, what is the difference in my driver path and my irons?
Please let me hear you expertise.
