Hey Guys.
Need some advice. I'm pretty new to golf and I play at a 23 handicap or so. I just bought a new set of irons. I used to play pre-owned Callaway
X-12s with graphite shafts. These were very light, but pretty clunky and with zero feel. So I traded them in for Mizuno MX 900s with steel shafts. These clubs look great and have many game improvement features. I swung them well in the store and had them fitted.
When I got them out to the range, I was pretty concerned. Now, again I'm new to golf, but these clubs just feel so heavy. Much heavier than my old clubs. They have a lot of forgivness weight at the head and the shafts are steel. When I started hitting them decent (after 30 balls or so...) I noticed my distance was much less. I know I'm adjusting to the new clubs, but I thought these new clubs would feel so much better. Is this normal? Should I be worried? How long does a typical new club take to feel right? Will the distance come back?
Thanks.
