  • lets build a ****py swing

maybe some of you might find this fun, here is what we do. start with a flaw at set up, On the first one I will start with too strong a right hand. then from there In less then ten words describe a problem it will cause in the next step. then someone else chimes in and adds the next step, thne we do this untill the swing is finished. at the end we give approximate yardage and shot shape. I will edit this post and paste the progressive steps to it

V of Right point outside of right shoulder, It will cause
Low right shoulder at address, it will cause
    hands behind ball casues a
    closed clubface causes
    rolling lead arm

    next?

I am a little bit confused.

              1) Are we assuming that we start with a perfect swing and then add imperfections to determine the effect.
              OR
              2) Starting with a seriously flawed swing and assuming that we can determine the single root of the problem.

I think you will find that (1) is easy to analyze.
V of Right point outside of right shoulder, will cause a hook so long as the rest of the swing is perfect.

While (2) may be impossible, because a flaw can either offset or compound other flaws so there may be no root flaw at all.
Using your "V of Right point outside of right shoulder" as an example, you can offset this by a very weak left hand so that the club face is "square" at impact, or, compound the ball flight problems by having a closed stance.

well if you did that with the left hand they would be fighting each other and you may possibly hit one big hook when you let the right hand take too much control and then a push right when you let the left hand take control.

low right shoulder will usually not cause an outside take away, more likely inside take away

Low right shoulder at address, it will cause:

Not if you slide your hips and come out of the shot.

Hey! whats this thread about? I though we just gave our opinions on what the effects would be on the list of causes. Not for people to disagree with them.

Maybe I have lost the plot

I still don't get the plot.

Strong right or strong left hand will cause the clubface to close earlier (hook).
Weak right or weak left hand will cause the clubface to close later (slice).
So long as the other hand is "neutral".

Weak left hand AND a strong right hand will counter each other (fight in your words) and move the point where the clubface closes to closer to the "neutral-neutral" close point.
