ok, one thing at a time and lets see if I get this P.A. Been thinking of it while doing house chores
if I am spining to throw a frisbee when I start there is little CF, now when I get close to relase points if my shoulder and my body center actally fall away from the target druing release, this will add to the C.F. which will snap my left arm away from my body ven more and that will be P.A. If I was going grab my nephew by the ankles and spin him around and then release his so he flies in the pool, right before release I would fall slightly away from his target direction. Do those two work?

as far as body coil, what body coil? I turn shoulders 65 or so degrees on backswing, looks more due to adduction and abduction, right foot is open a little so there is only 20* max seperation between hips and shoulder, then on follow through, with driver, the club stays well awy from my shoulders there is no wrap arouind or recioll, because, well, there was not much coil to begin with

well I am glad you give some back
I like to live by the motto of flow, when you give things out that creates room and flow so things come back to you. When you stop giving you stop recieving cause the flow has stopped.
ok so you swing out and it comes back in. What about on a method such as austin, he took it inside, then it came up pretty high cause of his hands/arms rising without the body continuing to rotate so that stopped him bringing it inside.so what part of that swing do I look at to see your point, the initilal takeaway or from halfway up to the top?
the speed you talk about, I can hold a speed stick with arms at 9 oclock, fire from there and get it to read 120 so I know what you are talking about. was my illustrations right on PA?,

as far as mike his goal was to find a swing that worked naturally and had the least amount of impact on the human body. maybe he knew some of the things you speak of, but maybe he did not. so it seems I got PA understood, could you expand on the one inch that you speak of?

I have been gritting my teeth trying not to comment on this mutual congratulation society but cannot hold back any more!

Please, PLEASE, Please, Cmays and Shootin, stop this secret society talk. If you have something that you believe will help others on this site then make a supreme effort to explain it in a way that we can understand.

If you can assist other golfers to improve their game by explaining a swing that is comprehensible to the average Joe then do it, otherwise please stop confusing us and carry out your mind games somewhere else.

I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person but I cannot follow a thing you are trying to promote. Am I alone in this? if so I will admit to being stupid and will remove myself from this site.

Other members please give your opinions so we can put this to bed for once and for all.

some people want to understand the science behind the golf swing and I am one of them. Cmays, to me, is a professor I am trying to learn from, I can teach him a thing or two from time to time, as me and him discussed stretching, but when it comes to the golf swing I know I am the student. I am trying to catch up to cmays in knowledge, but in reality I will only close the gap some, probably never completely, and I am fine with that. I just dont want to be left too far behind to where I am not in his rearview mirror. Because me and him are talking about parametric acceleration that is a problem, not sure why brian. read into your post brian and see what it is actually saying. to me this is what it is saying,
keep the discussion level low, so everyone can follow along. And if that means the whole story is not told then ok.

I personally woudl like to know everything cmays can tell me. SO he explains something and I probe deeper, why is there harm in that. I am just starting to grasp P.A. and hope to be able to incorperate it into my golf swing and knowledge of the swing. If you want to know the science of it follow along and ask questions, you see how much of his time he has given me. If you dont want to know the science of it then that is ok too. Like someone said about snead, "why ask him, he dont know a darn thing about the golf swing" some people are like snead and need to know very little, some want to know as much as possible. Neither way is a bad thing the only bad thing is when the sneads try to act as a proffessor, when they should just say, hey man I am a feel player and could care less about understanding it or trying to explain it. I am a teacher of autistic children and work with teachers everyday who could not teach you how to pee on the floor, it does not make them bad it must means the place they are in is not a good fit, kind of like a lot of our politicians

                  Re: cmays, lets change channels

Thanks for the reply. Just to give you a brief background about myself to assuage your fear about someone or maybe a teaching pro lurking in this forum just wanting to get some tips and then turning around and announcing to the whole world that he has solved golf's secret. Rest assured, I am not that.

Anyway, I have been playing this game for some 17 years and the best handicap I managed to achieve was a 6--that was two years ago. Lately, my handicap ballooned to 12. (I am now 50 years old).

When I was a 6 handicapper, I wanted to get even better. Also the more you get skillful the more you feel you know less. I knew my swing at that time wouldn't hold under pressure. So I took lessons but alas my game got bad and deteriorated. Maybe I was not learning/practicing the right things or it maybe age-related (I hope not).

Re: turning of hips - On my backswing I never knew that you should work on getting the weight onto the right heel as my concentration had always been on the shoulders and torso. Although, I have read in some books that this must be so. Hope to have to more enlightening discussions. Thanks

                        Re: cmays, lets change channels

So I still haven't been accepted by Thomas at the MA forums... oh well.

I just bought Dan Shauger's "How to Kill the Ball" and am absolutely loving my results.

This game is effortless now. I didn't hit one stray shot - every shot went straight and 10 yards farther than usual on all my clubs. By adjusting my stance I could shape my shots easily. Shauger's compound-pivot seems to be alot easier as well, I found that I can hit with my right hand much easier.

Anyway, just wanted to share since I know you two like to hear new things - I'm sure there are non-Shauger followers and strictly MA, but this method is alot easier to me and the results seem to be backing that up.

Thanks, cmays. You're absolutely right, I really do feel like I'm going to become the scratch golfer I know I am this year. I love Shootin's post about breathing and then just need to work on my mental game.

I'd like to thank you for taking the time to help me last year with the drills you mentioned in a thread you made for me. I didn't realize it until I found Shauger's and MA's method, thanks for that - made things very clear and sort of a "Aha!" moment.

Can't wait to play Golf at the Club.

nice to hear you are getting good results matt, seems you have not been around here too much lately, where ya been, hitting balls? Hey, send me a PM wiht the name you are trying to use there and the email address you registered under and I will shoot him an email to see if we can get you on there. the thing is so many people sign up that are just trying to spam about porn, and he is one person who has to weed through all that.
and about the breathing post, all I am trying to do is explore possiblities, that is what life is all about. when you study something you should study the best.of people from multiple sports and see if you can incorperate techniques from other areas. In the golf swing I do not study tiger, he is not the best. But when studying the mental game that is what sets him apart so I would study his mental game cause he is the best at that. Austin hit the longest drive at an advanced age, so study him and see why. Bruce lee hits hard and he is small, why, etc....

Yup, hitting balls - the weather here, while not as great as over there I'm sure Shootin, has been BEAUTIFUL.

I'll send you the PM - I actually wrote to Thomas, but no answer - and I completely understand his filtering mechanics, I used to be a forum Admin as well and know all about the different little ploys spammers come up with.

I've decided that I'm going to try to incorporate breathing into my round tomorrow, that and humming my favorite tune in my head and while walking the course - I've had some reasonable success in the past with humming my favorite song. My mental game on the green is strong, it's just when I get that driver and approach shot that will sometimes turn on me - but that's because I wasn't completely confident in my swing...now I am 100% confident (I don't think anyone can screw this swing up).
