Since I posted my first scream of frustration to start this thread I've been struggling even to get in the low nineties on my relatively easy Par 70 home course.

Played two rounds today and the 92 for the first round whilst hinting at improvement was pretty typical of the error strewn (triples and 3 putts) rubbish I've been playing this year.

Then, in the afternoon, out of the blue, I turn round having doubled the P3 ninth to realise that a bogey would have had me match 40 for the first time ever and par break it . I guess taking only 11 putts helped

Couldn't keep up that standard but despite an OOB arrived at the 18th (same as 9th) requiring bogey for a PB - doubled the fecker again (OOB) but "parred" it on the reload to match my PB.

So, on a bright, sunny day, a return to where I was at the end of last year (maybe I just don't like the cold and the wet).

Now I can press for the next stage. My new teacher has improved my ball striking, my chipping (hence that 11 putts) is coming back, so time to book a lesson on those 40 - 60 yard pitches that are currently costing me at least 4 shots a round.

As thet say in the Blogs, thanks for reading.
Good stuff Robin. Bit of sun on the back works wonders
