I am taking part in a golf society day on 18th May 2005, i have not played golf for over 10 years. What handicap should i start from?

To get an official handicap you need to submit five cards to your club handicapper. These cards should be for rounds played under competition conditions and be signed by a marker. This will probably take you a bit of time.
If the event you are playing in is a sort of one off social event then the handicapping system used and the handicap given to you is up to the organisers. There are a number of systems used to calculate a handicap for a one off event. The Callaway system is probably the most popular of these.

LMAo...lol...lol...I think you are a little late with this response...why would you comment on a thread over two years old, he asked the question in May of 2005, and got response back then, so you decide two years later to answer, I am surprised you even found this..lol..is the original poster even still a member.
