TURN AROUND YOUR SPINE: try to imagine your spine as a central column, with your upper body rotaing around it. that is the essence of maintaining a constant spine angle. Try to keep yor spine angle fixed from the moment you address the ball to the moment your ball soars into the distance.
Not sure I agree with this one. You should be turning around your left side (for righties). Your left side during the downswing and follow through should act like a gate post and your body rotates around it. If you are rotating around your spine you will start spinning, not rotating. That is, if you are turning to your left rotating around your spine, your right side would be moving towards the target, but your left side would have to move away from the target to be actually rotating around your spine.

i agree with gord on that one, as turning around your spine can lead to pulling, and reverse pivot

LOL - it's just favourite tips. Granted, being in the General Golf Discussion folder, one would assume they'd be golf tips.

When practicing, I actually use this idea of turning around my spine during the backswing. But that's where it stops. For my downswing, my thought is to turn left, starting with the hips. It's been working very, very well for me, resulting in new PB's for both 9 and 18 holes.

true, just carfull, make sure you keep you eyes down as you said, not your head, keep your head in line with your spine, and look down with your eyes

                        Re: Favourite tips

My favourite 2 tips (and the ones I think gives most mid-high hancidappers immediate results) are

                        1. Tension. Hold the club like a bird in the hand is still great advice

                        2. Compact Backswing. So many higher handicap players swing way too far back with their hands and arms and get disconnected and over rotated. If you only think of turning your body to move the arms into a 10 o'clock position only and learn to fully set your wrists within this more compact swing, you have much less far to come into the ball, you are connected and you will hit the ball far far better

                                1) keep your preshot routine the same
                                2) aim for the smallest target you can visualize
