The driver took the back seat. So did the 3 wood. Call it what ever you want...chickened out or swallowed the ego. I played just irons(4 and up) this weekend. Just so that I have a second shot. And I did. Played the blues(not long, only 6600 yards) but stayed on the fairway 8 times, GIR 9 times, 1 birdie, 31 Putts and shot 80. The best this year. Took the advice from the forum(Ian) that play for bogeys on long par 4s and I did. It worked out OK. It gave me the confidense on the tee to swing freely. Conservative strategy:Cocky swing, Bob Rotella would say. Next step is to get the 3 Wood in the game....
I always hear/read that the swing between the Iron and Wood are the same. Just the change in ball position. But then should the shaft flex be the same in both?
